Kinder & 1st Grade at Sage Academy Granbury

Adventure Group

A private elementary school in Granbury, Texas — on the Fort Worth side — self-paced, Montessori-inspired, and outside up to 90 minutes a day.

If you're looking at private elementary schools in Granbury, here's what makes ours different: small groups, learning that moves at your learner's pace, and a lot of time outdoors. Our K/1st learners work with Montessori-inspired materials, build real projects with their hands, and spend up to an hour and a half outside every day. Adventure learners work at their own level in a small K/1 group — inside a multi-age studio where older learners lead by example.

The Adventure Group in our Discovery Studio — self-paced, Montessori-inspired, and outside up to 90 minutes a day.

Many of our learners begin kindergarten in the Spark Primary Studio and step up to Adventure when they're ready.

Outside. A Lot.

Up to 90 minutes of outdoor time, daily. Not as a reward for sitting still — as part of how five- and six-year-olds are built to learn. Movement, nature, and free play are on the schedule, every day.

Little Group, Bigger World

Adventure is the kinder and 1st grade group within our Discovery Studio. Your learner gets the focus of a small K/1 band — and the daily example of older learners reading, building, and leading a few feet away. Littles look up; bigs step up.

Hands-On Projects

Worksheets show what a learner memorized. Projects show what they can do. Adventure learners plan, build, test, and present real work — and the confidence that comes from finishing something hard is the whole point.

Self-Paced, Not One-Pace

No learner waits on the group, and no learner gets left behind the group — because there is no "the group's pace." Each learner moves through Montessori-inspired materials and core skills at their own level, with a Guide beside them, not a lesson plan ahead of them.

When they're ready, Adventure learners move up into Discovery — same studio, same Guides, a seamless next step.

More than Academics

Character, Community, Family Time

A well-rounded education extends beyond academics. At Sage Academy, character grows alongside skills — empathy, integrity, and resilience are practiced daily in the studio, not just posted on a wall. And because we skip busywork homework, your family's afternoons and weekends stay yours.
