About Makayla

With a lifelong passion for working with children, Makayla leads our Primary Spark Studio with experience, warmth, and a strong foundation in education. Before Sage, she worked as a paraprofessional and substitute teacher at Godley ISD, supporting learners in kindergarten, special education, and general education classrooms, and worked one-on-one with children as a Registered Behavior Technician. That range of experience gives her a well-rounded understanding of how to help each learner grow in confidence, independence, and a love of learning.

Makayla is currently pursuing her Montessori certification, deepening the foundation she brings to the prepared environment every day.

What She Loves About Early Childhood

Certified in CPR, CPI, and ABA-based behavior support

Experience supporting children with autism and developmental differences

Makayla believes early childhood is about so much more than letters and numbers. It's about developing confidence, social-emotional awareness, and a sense of belonging. She finds joy in hands-on work like arts and crafts, sensory play, storytelling, and cooperative games that spark imagination and build community.

Loves crafting, storytelling, and creating joyful learning moments

“Every child deserves to feel understood, encouraged, and celebrated. That’s what I aim to bring to the studio each day.” — Ms. Makayla

What Families Can Expect

The Capstone Year: Kinder in Primary

Makayla brings kindergarten classroom experience to this important year. She understands how 5- and 6-year-olds grow, and she honors the fact that each child arrives at his or her capstone year on his or her own timeline. There is no race and no one-size-fits-all pace. Some learners are ready to dive into new challenges, while others need time to strengthen the foundations they've built. Makayla meets each child where he or she is, then invites the next step when that child is ready.

When a learner has finished the capstone year and is ready socially, emotionally, and academically, he or she moves on to the Adventure Studio with confidence, independence, and a love of learning.
